IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) is a syndrome affecting the regular of the bowel and bowel movement in the large intestine. Most of those who have to ive with IBS can do so quite easily by managing exercise, diet and managing stress levels in their lifestyles. More serious types exist and must be treated with medication.
Symptoms of IBS include
- Abdominal/back pain
- Excess Gas
- Diarrhea or constipation
Different foods can trigger IBS. Smaller meals should be digested throughout the day. Caffeine and alcohol should be avoided. Clean, simple foods should help clear an IBS flare up. IBS can be caused by many different things
- Hormones – Women are more likely to be affected by IBS
- Age – Those under 50 are more likely to suffer from this.
- Intestinal muscles being too slow or too strong
- Inflammation of the intestines
